Investigation has been launched after a Navy F/A-18F Superhornet crashed Monday, in Death Valley National Park, a Navy officer said on Tuesday.
The pilot ejected and suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from a Las Vegas hospital Monday night.
The aircraft was assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 9 at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake.

After the crash, units from the base as well as those from Fort Irwin Army Base and Marine Corps Air Station Yuma responded to rescue the downed pilot, the Navy said.
The jet crashed in a remote area of the park and no one else was injured, the Navy said.
The Navy will assist the National Park Service with the cleanup of the crash site, it said. (tca/dpa/NAN)
