The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of Rev. James Kwayang, resident pastor of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, also known as Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa A Nigeria (EYN), and his secretary, Rev. Ishaku Chiwar.

Spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident, stating that personnel have been deployed to rescue the victims.

EYN President, Rev. Daniel Mbaya, also confirmed the abduction and called on security agencies to intensify efforts for the safe return of the pastors. He further appealed to Nigerians and members of the EYN community for prayers.

“We call all Nigerians and the entire EYN community to join us in prayers for the safe and speedy release of the two men of God, comfort and strength for their families and loved ones, wisdom and effectiveness for the security personnel working towards their release, as well as for peace and protection for the EYN community and all those affected by this incident,” he said.

Rev. Mbaya added, “This incident has sent shockwaves throughout the EYN community, and we request your prayers and support during this difficult time.”

At the time of this report, the abductors remain unidentified and have not made contact with the church or the victims’ families.
