Police spokesperson Superintendent Wasiu Abiodun disclosed that the altercation, which occurred over the weekend, involved students of a secondary school in Chaichainiya and a rival group of youths from the area.

He confirmed that gunshots fired during the fight hit two minors, Nura and Imrana, aged 10 and 11.

Eyewitnesses said Umar Idris, a Senior Secondary School (SSS) 3 student, allegedly led his gang in the attack, wielding dangerous weapons. A preliminary investigation revealed that a personnel from a sister security agency was responsible for the shooting that injured the minors.

The police assured that further steps were being taken to uncover the full details of the incident and bring those involved to justice.
