The blaze, which erupted late Tuesday night, raged for about three hours while the children were asleep.

The fire is believed to have started due to stored sticks, locally known as “kara,” which are suspected to have ignited the flames. Many students were reportedly trapped inside the study hall, with several suffering severe burns in the chaos.

The victims were laid to rest on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

The Chairman of Kaura-Namoda Local Government, Comrade Mannir Muazu Haidara, confirmed the devastating incident, expressing condolences to the affected families and the community.
