Following the discovery of remains of their abducted traditional ruler, Eze Pau Ogbu, the people of Ihitte Ihube autonomous community in the Okigwe Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo state have been thrown into mourning.

Eze Ogbu and a youth leader in the community were kidnapped on Sunday after his palace and vehicle were razed.

Reports gathered showed that  it was another traditional ruler, Acho Ndukwe, who was kidnapped alongside Ogbu, that disclosed that their abductors had killed Ogbu.

Ndukwe was said to have revealed that the kidnappers killed Eze Paul Ogbu in his presence.

Security operatives reportedly went back to the criminals camp with the indigenes and the corpse of the traditional ruler was identified in a ditch.

Ogbu and Ndukwe were kidnapped on Sunday with their vehicles and palaces razed.

Ndukwe was rescued on Monday after security operatives raided the criminal den in Orsu Local Government Area and Uli in Ihiala LGA of Anambra state.
