Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has stepped down from his role as Special Adviser on Political Matters in the Office of the Vice President.

Presidency sources confirmed that the former Northern Elders Forum (NEF) spokesperson submitted his resignation about two weeks ago, citing personal reasons.

Appointed in September 2023, Baba-Ahmed was active in representing the presidency at several high-level events.

His exit follows that of Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, who stepped down on September 7, 2024, to address urgent family medical issues.

Baba-Ahmed’s departure is the second major resignation from the Tinubu administration in recent weeks.
