The Ministry of Niger Delta and the Ministry of Sports Development have been abolished, with a new Ministry of Regional Development set to replace them.

The new ministry will oversee all regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and North East Development Commission.

In a further restructuring move, the National Sports Commission will take over the duties previously handled by the Ministry of Sports Development.

Additionally, the FEC has approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy.
