President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd) as the new chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), replacing Solomon Arase.

This announcement was made by the presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement on Monday.

In his statement, Ngelale conveyed that President Tinubu has also approved the appointment of Chief Onyemuche Nnamani as the Secretary of the commission and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (retd) as a member.

Ngelale further stated, “The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Senate. Other members of the Police Service Commission will be appointed in due course.”

These changes mark a significant shift in the leadership of the PSC, as President Tinubu aims to bolster the commission with experienced and capable individuals.
