President Bola Tinubu has named Deputy Controller-General Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the next Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service.

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday. The announcement, made on behalf of the President, was signed by the Board’s Secretary, retired Major General A.M. Jibril.

Adeyemi takes over from Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji, who is due to retire on August 13 after clocking the statutory age of 60. Jaji has been at the helm of the agency, steering various reforms during his tenure.
Before his appointment, Adeyemi served as Deputy Controller-General in charge of Human Resources. His professional journey is marked by extensive training within and outside the country, having completed all required courses and leadership programs.
He is also associated with several respected professional bodies, such as the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.
The Board also paid tribute to the outgoing Controller-General, describing his time in office as impactful. It acknowledged his unwavering dedication and the various programs he introduced to enhance the performance and visibility of the Federal Fire Service.
His appointment will officially commence on August 14, 2025.
