A statement by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga on Tuesday revealed that Ogunjimi emerged through a competitive selection process overseen by a committee. Candidates underwent a written assessment, ICT proficiency test, and oral interviews before the final decision was made.

The process, according to the statement, aligns with Tinubu’s commitment to transparency, excellence, and merit-based appointments in key public offices.
Ogunjimi, 57, is an alumnus of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy in 1990. He furthered his studies with a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Lagos. He is also a fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
President Tinubu congratulated Ogunjimi on his appointment, urging him to uphold professionalism, integrity, and dedication in his service to the nation.
