President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Abdullahi Ganduje and Nasiru Gawuna, alongside several others, to key positions in federal agencies.

The appointments, announced on Thursday in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, take immediate effect.
Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, has been appointed Chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), while his former deputy, Nasiru Gawuna, was named Chairman of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN).
Other appointees include Dr. Kayode Opeifa as Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Augustine Umahi as Chairman of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, and Lawal Liman as Chairman of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria. Additionally, Dr. Abubakar Maiha was appointed Chairman of the Federal Medical Centre, Katsina.
Tinubu also directed all board chairpersons to refrain from interfering in the management of their respective organisations, noting that their roles remain non-executive.
