A Senior Special Reporter attached to the Kano State Ministry of History and Culture, Sadiq Gentle, has died from injuries he sustained during a violent attack by suspected hoodlums.

Gentle, who served under the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, passed away on Thursday morning at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano. His death came days after he was attacked with machetes by unidentified assailants at his residence.
In a condolence message, Governor Yusuf described Gentle as a “peace-loving and dedicated public servant” who carried out his duties with integrity and commitment. The governor condemned the killing as barbaric and ordered security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
