The Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Samaila Bambu, has reportedly been abducted by gunmen suspected to be members of the Lakurawa terror group.

Sources in Bagudo town, where the incident occurred, said the lawmaker was taken away on Friday evening in his hometown located in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Confirming the development, the Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Ahmed Idris, said he had been briefed about the abduction but was awaiting a detailed report from security officials.
Idris stated that he had received preliminary information about the reported abduction and was already in contact with the state’s Director of Security to gather full details of the incident.
He added that the government was closely monitoring the situation and had taken steps to ensure the lawmaker’s safe release.
According to him, once full details are available, the state government will make its position known and continue working to ensure Bambu’s safe return.
