The incident happened around 10 a.m., according to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu, who confirmed that officers were alerted through a distress call and immediately rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, the police discovered the lifeless body of the man beneath a concrete slab housing high-voltage armoured cables. Preliminary investigations suggest he was electrocuted while attempting to vandalize the cables.

The corpse has been deposited at a morgue, and authorities are working to identify the deceased.

DSP Shiisu condemned the act and warned members of the public against cable theft, describing it as not only illegal but also extremely dangerous. He urged residents to report any suspicious movements around public infrastructure to security agencies.

The police have launched a full investigation and promised to provide further updates as more information becomes available.
