A political support group, the National Unity Movement for Bola Ahmed Tinubu (NUMBAT), has promised to deliver 30 million votes for the APC presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election.

Mr Bamidele Faparisi, Director-General of NUMBAT, made the pledge this on Tuesday in Abuja during the inauguration of the National Working Committee, Zonal and State Coordinators of the group.

He said NUMBAT would deliver the 30 million votes through its ‘One United Nigeria Campaign for Asiwaju’.

“We will heighten our commitment from awareness to ownership of Asiwaju’s plans and manifesto for Nigerians.

“We will also provide national support and promote Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the face of unity among the presidential candidates,” he said.

Faparisi said the group would facilitate and champion nationwide support for Tinubu through advocacy, community mobilisation, capacity building, research and policy development.

He described the APC presidential candidate as a unifier, and a politician with impressive pedigree.

Faparisi added that Tinubu was not given to bigotry, saying progressive politics, peace and development were his religion.

According to him, Tinubu is a detribalised Nigerian who places merit and competence above every other considerations.

Some of the zonal and state coordinators who spoke at the event also pledged to contribute their quota to deliver on the promise of the group.

Mr Mohammed Shehu, Northwest Zonal Coordinator of NUMBAT, said he would replicate the inauguration in the zone to ensure effective grassroots mobilisation. (NAN)
