This information was provided by Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu, Wazirin Sokoto and Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, who explained that the decision aligns with Islamic tradition. Since the crescent moon was not sighted on April 27, 2025, the month of Shawwal will be completed with 30 days, meaning that Monday, April 28, 2025, will mark the 30th day of Shawwal. As a result, Zulki’ida will commence on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
In his message, the Sultan called on Muslims to continue praying for peace, unity, and progress across the nation. He highlighted the importance of upholding Islamic values such as compassion, tolerance, and mutual respect.
