In a statement personally signed and shared with journalists on Thursday, Garo congratulated Muslims in Kano and across the country, praying for peace, progress, and harmony in Nigeria.
He also mourned the tragic loss of 22 Kano athletes who died in a road crash while returning from the National Sports Festival in Ogun State, calling for prayers for the souls of the deceased and comfort for their grieving families.
“I extend my heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Kano State and across Nigeria. May the spirit of Eid el-Kabir bring peace and strengthen our bonds of unity,” the statement read.
Garo further appealed to the public to show empathy and generosity during the festive period, stressing the importance of caring for the less privileged.
“Let us use this opportunity to extend our hands of kindness to those in need and ensure that everyone feels the joy of this blessed season,” he said.
