Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed on Friday through his X account that the incident occurred around 7.30 pm on Thursday when a large crowd gathered to welcome the minister, triggering chaos and a stampede.

Hospital officials at Farida General Hospital confirmed that 23 year old Khalifa Uzairu died shortly after arriving at the facility. The other victims, Ayuba Sani, Muhammadu Adams, Aliyu Aminu, Shaaban Hamisu and Inusa Musa Shehu, were taken in for treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.

Security personnel have been deployed to maintain order, while an investigation is underway to determine what caused the stampede and whether any lapses contributed to the incident.

Authorities urged residents to follow safety measures during official gatherings to prevent similar incidents.
