Portrait of the 14th Emir of Kano state, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has resurfaced in the historical Coronation Hall in Kano state, leaving many speculating about the possibility of his potential reinstatement.

The portrait has sparked debate among the public. While some resident interpret it as a sign of Sanusi’s imminent return of the Emir, others remain skeptical, dismissing it as a mere historical gesture.

Responding to the speculations, Ibrahim Ado, the personal assistant to the Governor of Kano state took to twitter to clarify that the placement of the photographs is purely a reflection of history.

He explained that the Coronation Hall itself was constructed during the tenure of Rabi’u Kwankwaso as Governor of the state.

As a result, both Emir Sanusi and Senator Kwankwaso’s pictures were included as a homage to the hall’s historical context.

He said ” Emir Sunusi Picture and that of Sen. Rabi’u Kwankwaso were installed back at the Coronation hall as part of history. This is because the Coronation hall was built during the time of Sen. Kwankwaso and Emir Sunusi was the first Emir to be coronated there.”

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was on March 9 2020 dethroned by the former governor of Kano state Abdulahi Ganduje.
