Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has acknowledged the outpouring of birthday wishes on his 65th birthday, subtly calling out those who only reached out after seeing President Bola Tinubu’s message.

El-Rufai, who marked his 65th birthday on February 16, 2025, expressed gratitude to everyone who sent him prayers and well-wishes, including those whose messages were seemingly influenced by Tinubu’s gesture. “I appreciate the prayers and best wishes from everyone, including those who were motivated to reach out after seeing President Tinubu’s message,” he wrote on X.

The former governor noted that he received an overwhelming number of messages, making it difficult to respond to each one personally. Apologizing for any unintentional omissions, he stated, “I’ve tried to repost and share all the birthday messages, but I’m sure I missed some. Please forgive me if I didn’t respond to yours.”

El-Rufai has been openly criticizing the All Progressives Congress (APC) for allegedly diverging from its foundational principles and enabling ineffective leadership.
