A Former Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shema, has described the local government elections held in the State on Monday as ”a sad testimony”.

“The unconstitutional action by Governor Masari’s Administration was challenged in court. The matter even went up to Supreme Court and the governor lost.

“Now that he was directed the conduct of the elections for the local governments, he only nominated the people who would be chairmen and councillors,” Shema said.

Shema described the election as `a sham’ pointing out that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) would challenge the local government elections in court. (NAN)
