The facility, which was recently renovated, was unveiled on Tuesday and renamed “Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre” by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, during its reopening ceremony.

Speaking at the event, President Tinubu urged Minister Wike to disregard “busybodies and naysayers” who may seek to distract him from his responsibilities. He also directed all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to make payments for the use of the ICC facility.

Wike, during the ceremony, also revealed that various halls within the complex had been renamed in honour of top government officials, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.

Reacting to the development on social media, Senator Sani criticised the renaming of the centre, noting that it was originally built under the administration of former military Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida.

He urged President Tinubu to reject the honour, insisting the facility should retain its original name as a way to preserve its historical roots and identity.
