The incident took place on Friday around 9:47 p.m., when suspected armed youths ambushed the 18-seater bus near the outskirts of Mangu. The vehicle, which was reportedly transporting 28 passengers from a neighboring state to Qua’an-Pan for a wedding ceremony, came under heavy attack.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama said the assailants killed seven passengers on the spot, critically wounded one, and injured six others. The attackers also set the bus ablaze, leaving it completely destroyed.

Local leaders were able to rescue 14 passengers who managed to escape unhurt. Their timely intervention is believed to have prevented further casualties.

In response to the attack, security operatives have deployed tactical units to the affected area. However, there has been no official comment from the police or military authorities as of the time of this report.
