While leading officials of the Nigerian Navy to inspect the land, Senator Sumaila said the gesture was aimed at supporting the Federal Government’s efforts to improve education in the country. He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for including N5.2 billion in the 2025 budget for the project.

He noted that the school will admit students from across Nigeria, and help promote access to quality education in the region.

Senator Sumaila also pledged to monitor the progress of the project and ensure its timely completion.

The senator also assured residents that he would follow up on the Kano-Wudil-Shuwarin road project. The N124.4 billion road, which is part of the Kano-Maiduguri dual carriageway, had suffered years of delay. The Federal Executive Council has now re-awarded the contract to Triactor Construction Company, with a new completion timeline of three years.
