Buhari highlighted that his government inherited significant security and economic challenges from the previous administration, which was led by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for 16 years. Despite these hurdles, he insisted that his policies effectively tackled terrorism and economic difficulties, leaving the country in a better state than when he assumed office in 2015.
Reflecting on his tenure, Buhari expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, acknowledging the complexities of governance. He noted that those in leadership positions truly understand the magnitude of challenges involved in running a nation.
In response, Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Yusuf Ibrahim-Jargaba, lauded Buhari’s efforts in addressing insecurity and other national issues. He credited the former president’s dedication and service for contributing to national stability.
