The decision was made on Thursday during a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) held in Abuja. According to the party, the move followed the adoption of findings by its Disciplinary Committee and a subsequent White Paper that investigated and confirmed allegations against the affected officials.
In a statement released after the meeting, the SDP said those expelled are Shehu Musa Gabam, Ogbonna Chukwuma Uchechukwu, Adamu Abubakar Modibbo, Abubakar Dogara, Nuraddeen Bisalla, Solsuema Osaro, Ambo Ekpeyong, Eluwa Ifeanyi Henry, Humphrey Unwukaeze, and Judith Israel Shuaibu.
The NWC stated that the expelled members were found guilty of misconduct, financial impropriety, abuse of office, and unlawful entry into the party’s national secretariat. They were also accused of being in possession of sensitive documents and valuables taken from the secretariat without authorization.
Reaffirming its stance, the NWC said the disciplinary measures were necessary to uphold transparency, accountability, and constitutional order within the party. It emphasized that the decision was taken to restore integrity, discipline, and internal harmony in the SDP.
The expulsion, according to the party, takes immediate effect from October 23, 2025.
