The Zamfara state First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bello Matawalle has donated cash and clothes to over 5000 women in the state for Sallah celebrations.

In her remark, the state women leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Hajiya Aisha Waziri thanked the First Lady for initiating various programmes to support women in the state.

According to her, the PDP-led government led by Governor Matawalle since its inception has been giving priority to women empowerment policies and programmes.

The special adviser to the Governor, Office of the First Lady, Hajiya Fatima Musa described the assistance given to women by the First Lady as timely.

“This is timely, considering the way it would add impact to various lives of vulnerable groups especially women especially as they celebrate Sallah with happiness”, Hajiya Fatima said.

She appealed to the people of the state to continue to cooperate with Matawalle’s administration to move the state forward.

Presenting the gesture to the beneficiaries in Gusau on Tuesday, Hajiya Aisha Bello Matawalle said is aimed to assist women to celebrate the Sallah festival.

“We are presenting a set of cloth to over 5000 women and cash to beneficiaries drawn from Gusau, Bungudu, and Tsafe LGAs.

“This is in line with the present administration led by Governor Bello Matawalle to promote the lives of the poor especially at grassroots”, he said.

The First Lady, therefore, called on the people of the state to use Sallah period and offer special prayers and seek Allah’s intervention to overcome security challenges in the state and Nigeria in general.
