Spokesman for the Kano State Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident and said investigations are ongoing. He assured that the matter is being handled in accordance with the law and urged residents to remain calm while the process unfolds.

According to reports, the unrest began when motorcyclists and residents stormed the local police station, demanding that officers release the suspects accused of murdering 25-year-old Umar Idris from Kamfa village. Idris was attacked on his way back from Buda town on Wednesday, and his motorcycle was allegedly stolen during the assault.

Witnesses said the crowd insisted that the suspects be handed over for revenge, which led to a heated confrontation with the police. In the ensuing chaos, a vehicle parked at the station was set ablaze.
