The 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has asked residents of Kano state to remain clam, saying justice shall prevail in the current on the Kano Emirate stool.

Daily News 24 reports that Mr Bayero stated this when he received top officials of security agencies including the Commissioner of Police, Usaini Gumel.

Earlier, CP Gumel had vowed that the police in collaboration with other security agencies would obey a court order halting the reinstatement of Emir Muhammad Sanusi.

Mr Sanusi was reappointed by Governor Abba Yusuf on Wednesday, after signing a new law that deposed Mr Bayero and four other emirs from their stools.

But Speaking on Saturday, the deposed emir said justice would be done on the issue, adding that “nobody is above the law”.

The monarch vowed to accept whatever the law states, adding that Kano is an important state in Nigeria.

Speaking in Hausa, he said, “I call on the people to remain calm and await the outcome of the legal process in this issue.

“We call on  the authority to do justice in this matter. Kano is a very influential state in Nigeria. Whatever affects Kano affects Nigeria.

“May peace reign in Kano. We pray for Allah to bless Kano with responsible and just leaders. Justice is the way to go on every issue.

“There will be justice. Nobody is above law. We will accept whatever the law says. I appreciate all the people who have shown concern.

“As I said, justice will be done. We will keep on praying for peace in Kano State. May Allah the Almighty protect us,” he said.
