Ruben de la Red’s second-half strike proved the difference for Real Madrid as they recorded a 3-2 victory over Barcelona in the Clasico Legends match on Tuesday.

It was a star-studded occasion in Tel Aviv, with former greats such as Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Luis Figo and Roberto Carlos on show, and it proved to be a thrilling spectacle for the 25,000 fans at the Bloomfield Stadium.

It was Ronaldinho who broke the deadlock for Barcelona after 28 minutes, firing home a penalty after Antonio Nunez had brought down Javier Saviola in the box.

However, Real Madrid burst out of the traps at the start of the second half, as strikes from Pedro Munitis and Alfonso Perez two minutes later turned the match on its head.

Although Jofre Mateu restored parity with an hour on the clock, Los Blancos regained the lead ten minutes later with what turned out to be the winner, as Ruben de la Red showed delightful skill to evade two Barcelona players before curling home an unstoppable effort.
