Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has issued an executive order mandating property owners in Kwankwasiyya, Amana, and Bandirawo cities to occupy their properties within three months or risk revocation.

The governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, announced the directive on Monday, stating that it is part of the administration’s effort to enhance urban development and maximize the use of these planned cities.

Governor Yusuf emphasized that the estates were established to drive Kano’s growth and urged owners who cannot relocate to consider renting out their properties. He highlighted the government’s investment in infrastructure such as roads, water, and electricity to make the estates habitable.

As part of the directive, the State Ministry of Housing Development will take over the current Housing Corporation headquarters, with the corporation set to relocate to Kwankwasiyya City.
