The solemn event brought together a large gathering of mourners, including prominent figures such as Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, and Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso. Also in attendance were government officials, political associates, and members of the business community who came to pay their last respects.

Dan Zago, who passed away earlier on Thursday at the age of 74 after a prolonged illness, was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.

Governor Yusuf described the late politician as a dedicated public servant who played a significant role in Kano’s political development. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for Allah’s mercy on the deceased.

Dan Zago was known for his grassroots political influence and leadership within Kano’s political landscape. He previously served as the State Chairman of the defunct ANPP and held key advisory positions in government.

He is survived by four wives, 37 children, and many grandchildren.
