A lecturer with the Kaduna Polytechnic, Kasimu Audu Bakori has said that the Founder of Maryam Abacha American University (MAAUN) conglomerate and Franco-British International university (FBIU) Kaduna, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo is a source of pride to all Africans in view of his commitment towards the development of education.

He made the remarks when he led some students from the Department of Tourism who visited the permanent site of the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, Kano recently.

The lecturer commended Prof.Abubakar Gwarzo for establishing the university and equipping same with the state of the art facilities for effective teaching and learning.

“Honestly, what I saw in the university (MAAUN) has convinced me that it will be very difficult to get somebody like Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo who is committed towards the upliftment of education sector.

“So, he should be a great source of pride to all Africans wherever they might be across the globe,” he said.

Bakori therefore, called on well-to-do individuals in Nigeria in particular and Africa in general to emulate Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo by establishing similar institutions to enable youths acquire quality education for the socio-economic development of the continent.

The visiting students were conducted round the university buildings by one of its officials, Comrade Ali Yusuf Kakaki.

Among the places visited include lecture theatres, laboratories, Faculty of law, library and the university mini sports complex.

One of the students, Ashiru Shitu who spoke on behalf of his colleagues expressed happiness over the physical structures he saw and the state of the art facilities put in place in the school.

He, therefore, advised youths who have the requisite qualification and wish to further their studies, to go to Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, in Kano.
