This was disclosed in a statement signed by the overseeing Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Garba Muhammad Bashe, on Thursday.

According to the statement, a four-member investigative panel found the two officers guilty of misconduct after they were accused of selling 32 scrap student beds, nine jumbo aluminum cooking pots, and an unspecified quantity of roofing zinc.

Following the findings, the Commission approved the removal of Malam Musa Ahmed Ningi as principal and ordered the demotion of both officials by one grade level. They have also been transferred to different schools.

In a related update shared with journalists by the Commission’s Information Officer, Dahiru Adamu, the officials are to refund a total sum of N597,000, being the estimated value of the sold items. In addition, the principal is required to pay an extra N72,000 meant for the outstanding allowance of casual workers.

The Commission added that it would collaborate with security agencies to recover the sold items and enforce full accountability.
