According to a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations of the institution, Kabir S. Hanga, the school was established in August 1995 and has since evolved from humble beginnings into a reputable academic institution known for its strong performance in both national and international examinations.

Over the years, Prime College has nurtured generations of students who have gone on to excel in various fields, including medicine, engineering, technology, and public service, both within and outside Nigeria.

The statement noted that the school’s academic record includes a consistent 100 percent pass rate in IGCSE, WAEC, NECO, JAMB, and the Canadian OSSD diploma examinations. It added that more than 80 percent of students achieve distinctions annually, with one of its students emerging as the top performer nationwide in English Language in 2023.

“These achievements reflect our culture of excellence, the dedication of our qualified teachers, and our commitment to nurturing not only academic brilliance but also integrity and character among students,” Hanga said.

He added that Prime College alumni are recognized not just for their academic achievements but also for the values of respect, honesty, and hard work instilled during their time at the school.

Remaining true to its founding principles, the school continues to promote inclusivity through scholarship programs that support children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Citing UNICEF data, Hanga noted that Kano State currently has nearly one million out-of-school children, including over 240,000 girls not enrolled in primary school. He emphasized that addressing these challenges requires collaboration between the government and private institutions to improve infrastructure and raise educational standards.

“The Kano State Government has shown commitment to improving education, and we believe that with continued partnership and sound policies, these issues can be addressed,” he added.

As Prime College looks ahead, it pledges to continue providing world-class education and serving as a vital partner in building a better future for children in Kano and across Nigeria.
