During an appearance on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television, Kalu stated that the renewed activities of the terrorist group, especially in the northeast, are not coincidental but part of a calculated political strategy. He identified politicians, wealthy businesspeople, and top government officials as those fueling insecurity in pursuit of political power.
Kalu explained that the motive behind the support for Boko Haram is not financial gain but a desire to seize control of the government. He argued that the growing insecurity in the country is being orchestrated by power-seeking elites working from within the system.
In addition to his remarks on insecurity, Kalu also urged President Tinubu to overhaul his cabinet. He suggested that some members of the administration are not delivering on their responsibilities and are contributing to the hardship faced by ordinary Nigerians. He called on the President to take bold action by removing underperforming officials.
Kalu emphasized the importance of national unity and patriotism, urging all Nigerians to put the country’s interest above personal or political ambitions. He stressed that true progress would only be possible if citizens work collectively to improve the lives of the masses rather than sabotaging national efforts for selfish reasons.
