Police operatives in Ogun State have successfully rescued the wife of retired Assistant Inspector General, AIG Hakeem Odumosu, after a daring raid on the kidnappers’ hideout. Mrs. Odumosu was abducted on January 16, 2025, by four masked gunmen outside her residence in Arepo, Ogun State.

The police launched a thorough investigation and pursuit of the kidnappers, using technical intelligence platforms to track them down. Their efforts paid off on January 23, 2025, when they raided a creek in the swampy area of Ikorodu, where the kidnappers were planning their next attack.
During the confrontation, two of the kidnappers were neutralized, while four others fled the scene, abandoning their operational weapons. The police recovered 4 Ak-47 rifles, 3 locally made single barrel rifles, ammunition, and the sum of N10,000,000 ransom previously demanded by the kidnappers.
Mrs. Odumosu was rescued unharmed and is currently undergoing medical evaluation as a precautionary measure. She has been reunited with her family, and the Inspector-General of Police has commended the Ogun State Police Command for their gallantry in the successful operation.
