A stolen vehicle has been recovered and a female suspect apprehended in Kano State, the police announced, in a move aimed at strengthening security and combating crime in the state.

The information was provided in a statement issued on Thursday by SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Police Command. According to the statement, the vehicle, a Toyota Hilux with registration number GWA 998 AR, was reported stolen on September 29, 2025, from Ikeja Road in Fagge Local Government Area.
Police officers from the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) carried out an intelligence-led operation along Airport Road in Nassarawa LGA, resulting in the arrest of 35-year-old Adama Hassan from Deba LGA, Gombe State, on October 6, 2025, while she attempted to conceal the vehicle en route to Niger Republic.
Investigations revealed that Hassan received the vehicle from a male suspect from Lafiyan, Lamurde LGA, Adamawa State, who remains at large. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend him and recover additional stolen property.
The Kano State Police Command commended the officers involved and thanked members of the public for providing vital information that led to the success of the operation.
