Enang, who was attached to the Akim Police Division, was said to have been in a joyous mood throughout the match, which he watched with friends, Vanguard reports.

Witnesses said the officer, known for his passion for Arsenal, was seen cheering and jumping in excitement after each goal. However, shortly after the final whistle, he reportedly slumped and became unresponsive.

He was immediately rushed to the Police Hospital in Akim, where medical personnel tried to revive him. Sadly, he was confirmed dead.

One of his friends described the late officer as soft-spoken and deeply passionate about football, especially Arsenal, saying the news of his sudden death left many in shock.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Cross River State Police Command, SP Irene Ugbo, for comments were unsuccessful, as calls and messages to her went unanswered as of press time.
