In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Command said all motorists with either factory-fitted or non-factory tinted glasses must obtain the required permit to avoid inconvenience during the exercise.
According to the directive, vehicle owners are expected to complete an online registration via [https://possap.gov.ng] before proceeding to the Command headquarters for physical verification. Required documents include vehicle particulars, proof of ownership, and specifications of the tinted glass.
The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, assured residents that the enforcement would be carried out with professionalism and respect for citizens’ rights. He warned officers involved in the operation against harassment, extortion, or other unlawful conduct, stressing that any personnel found violating the guidelines would face disciplinary measures.
The Command further urged motorists to comply with the regulations and to promptly report cases of misconduct by officers to the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) through the dedicated phone lines.
