The Kano State Police Command has invited Sa’adatu Salisu, Chairperson of Tudunwada Local Government Council and head of the Kano chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), for questioning following allegations of an attack on workers at a factory in the state.

Confirming the development, the state police spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the command has sent invitations to Salisu, her police orderly, and other witnesses to provide statements regarding the incident. He added that the orderly has also been recalled to the command for questioning.
The incident reportedly occurred on August 28 at the site of Tasarrufi General Enterprise, when Salisu visited the premises with a road construction contractor. Factory officials alleged that she demanded the factory vacate its location, claiming it obstructed the ongoing project. However, according to the factory manager, Suyudi Umar, the project engineer clarified that the site was not within the construction zone.
Despite this explanation, Umar alleged that Salisu later returned with a large group of men, estimated at over 200, who carried machetes and other weapons. He further claimed that the attackers assaulted several workers, and that Salisu instructed her police orderly to fire shots during the confrontation, leaving many injured.
The police said investigations are ongoing to establish the facts of the case and determine appropriate action.
