The Ondo State Police Command has dismissed reports alleging that a vehicle from the convoy of First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu was responsible for the death of a young girl in Akure.

According to the police, findings from eyewitnesses and preliminary investigations showed that the incident was caused by a hit-and-run driver of an unregistered white Lexus.

A witness who saw the event reportedly chased the fleeing vehicle on a motorcycle, and this account was supported by several individuals at the scene, including the parents of the deceased.

The police further corrected an online report which wrongly claimed that the victim was nine years old. Clarification from the family revealed that the girl was actually seven years old.

The Commissioner of Police has visited the grieving family and assured them of a comprehensive investigation to ensure justice is served.
