Police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the incident occurred on May 9, 2025, around 9:30pm, when the victim, identified as Sulaiman Musa from Goda village in the same local government, visited his girlfriend, Fiddausi Umar, at her residence.

According to the statement, an altercation reportedly broke out, during which Mansur allegedly struck Sulaiman on the head with a stick, causing serious injuries. The victim was initially rushed to Kunya Cottage Hospital before being referred to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano, where he died at about 12:50am the next day.

Mansur was promptly arrested, and the case has been transferred to the Homicide Section of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has urged residents to exercise restraint in times of conflict and to report grievances or suspicious activities to the nearest police station instead of resorting to violence.
