Sources at the commission disclosed that operatives from the IGP monitoring unit, led by ASP Ahmed Bello, arrived at the commission’s office on Friday and insisted on taking Rimingado into custody as reported by Solacebase.

Later that evening, Muhuyi Rimingado was arrested and taken to Zone 1 Police Headquarters in Kano. Lawyers representing the anti-corruption chairman were reportedly denied access to him at the station.

Efforts to reach the Force Police Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, and the spokesperson for APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Edwin Olofo, were unsuccessful.
