The Kano State Police Command has arrested three men suspected of involvement in an armed robbery in Abuja, leading to the recovery of a stolen car.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspects identified as 20 years old Ismail Imran, 31 years old Abdulaziz Yahaya and 29 years old Musa Ibrahim Isah were all traced to Rigasa Quarters in Kaduna State. They were apprehended on September 6, 2025, during a surveillance operation carried out in partnership with local vigilantes, following directives from the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.
A 2014 Toyota Corolla S, blue in color with registration number KWL-78 DN, was retrieved from the suspects. Investigations revealed the car had been stolen in the early hours of September 5 during a violent robbery at Durumi, Abuja, where the victim’s family was attacked, leaving one person critically injured.
Commending the officers for their swift action, CP Bakori said the breakthrough highlighted the effectiveness of community-based policing as championed by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
SP Kiyawa added that the suspects are assisting with ongoing investigations to determine the extent of their operations.
The command has called on residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities, assuring that it remains committed to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
