The Kano State Police Command has arrested an 18-year-old woman, Saudat Jibril, for allegedly killing her husband, Salisu Idris, at their residence in Farawa Quarters, Kano.

According to a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the tragic incident occurred around 12:35 am on May 6, 2025. Saudat is accused of slitting her 30-year-old husband’s throat with a sharp knife.
Following the report, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, directed a team of detectives to the scene. Salisu was rushed to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by medical personnel.
Police said the suspect is currently being held at the Criminal Investigation Department’s Homicide Section and will face charges for culpable homicide.
While addressing the public, CP Bakori warned that the Command would not tolerate any form of violence in the state. He also reaffirmed the police’s commitment to ensuring justice is served.
The Command urged residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activities through its emergency lines.
