The State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the outcome of the polls on Monday. He explained that all the suspects had been charged before Magistrate Courts in Kano to face trial for various electoral offenses.

According to the police chief, the charges brought against them include criminal conspiracy, disorderly conduct, intimidation, and unlawful possession of offensive weapons, among others.

Bakori revealed that security operatives recovered a large cache of exhibits from the suspects. These included one pump action rifle, five locally fabricated guns, 16 swords, 18 cutlasses, 32 barandami weapons, 28 knives, one bow, 23 arrows, seven catapults, and 45 stones. In addition, 14 motor vehicles, two ballot boxes, 163 thumb-printed ballot papers, and cash amounting to N4,048,000 were seized.

The commissioner commended the combined efforts of security agencies for their professionalism during the elections, stressing that the command remains resolute in its duty to protect democracy and ensure that anyone found culpable of electoral violence faces justice.
