Former Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, has expressed confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will reclaim power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Tambuwal made the declaration on Monday during the flag-off of the PDP’s Ramadan package distribution in Sokoto State. Addressing party supporters at the event, he asserted that the PDP’s mandate was “forcefully stolen” in the last election but assured that the party is reorganising to regain control.

“By the grace of Allah, what was taken from us will be returned in 2027,” he stated.

The senator commended PDP leaders and members for their resilience, stressing that the party remains united and committed to serving the people. He acknowledged the efforts of the state party chairman and other leaders in mobilising support and ensuring the PDP remains formidable in Sokoto.

Tambuwal’s remarks were reinforced by Sokoto PDP Chairman, Bello Goronyo, who accused the APC of failing Nigerians. Goronyo argued that citizens were better off under PDP administrations and urged them to reject the APC in the next election.

He called on Sokoto residents and Nigerians at large to work towards what he described as the “liberation” of the country from the current government.
