Meeting in Abuja on Monday under the banner of Eminent Leaders and Concerned Stakeholders of the PDP, they also demanded fresh congresses in the South-East, Ebonyi, Anambra, and Ekiti States, and urged that the court-recognized South-South Congress held in Calabar be respected.
In a communique read by former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, the leaders warned that ignoring these demands would render any national convention invalid and disenfranchise legitimate party members.
Attendees included Minister Wike; PDP National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu; former governors Okezie Ikpeazu, Samuel Ortom, Ayo Fayose, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; House Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda; suspended Rivers Assembly Speaker Martins Ameawhule; as well as key party officials and chairmen from several states.
The communique emphasized that a credible convention must uphold transparency, fairness, inclusivity, and judicial decisions, while avoiding micro-zoning, to strengthen unity and restore the party’s prominence.
