Sen. Walid Jibrin, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Board of Trustees, has resigned from his position.

He made the announcement at the National Executive Council meeting, which is currently taking place in Abuja.

According to Vanguard, former Senate President Adolphus Wabara (South East) has been named Acting Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees.

Jibrin, who has a few months left on his term, had complained about the lopsidedness in the party’s hierarchy following the election of a fellow northerner, Atiku Abubakar, as Presidential candidate.

PDP set to announce National Presidential Campaign Council

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced that the list of its 2023 National Presidential Campaign Council members would be made public soon.

Debo Ologunagba, National Publicity Secretary, spoke to journalists after a National Caucus meeting in Abuja on Wednesday night.

The list would be discussed by the Board of Trustees (BoT) and the National Executive Council (NEC), according to the spokesman.

“The party is set to go and ready for the elections. All issues were resolved.

“We are set to go. We are ready. The organs of the party are working.”

Ologunagba said the opposition was set for a rescue mission and would rebuild the country if elected in 2023.

He explained that some PDP governors were absent at the meeting because a few were on holiday but were represented.
